TO LIVE OR MAYBE NOT
Autobiographical Literary Work by Gary Revel
Facts and details of the life of Gary Revel in his own words.
Playing poker with men in a rough and tumble southern juke joint is not the typical activity of a 10 year old boy but it was for Gary Revel. Dancing with the waitresses to sounds of Rock and Roll, Country and Blues coming from the jukebox was also part of his usually childs play. Then one night he watched his mother, who was the owner and operator of the place, taken to jail for accidentally shooting and killing a friend who had attempted to help her during an assault.
Several years later Gary would graduate from high school and join the US Navy which would bring more exciting and more deadly adventures for him. Honorably discharged in San Diego California; he would go to Hollywood then New York City, Memphis, Miami, Nashville and back to Hollywood before he would slow down and start to reflect on his life.
His investigation in 1977 of the assassination of Martin Luther King Jr. was the most troublesome time in his life. He needed to organize his thoughts and reflect on this time but only very carefully due to the murders that came with the territory. He begins writing a book, stories about his life from early in his childhood into his adulthood, marriage, children and career. He opens up a window into the MLK murder and his investigation associated with the US Government's House of Representatives via their (HSCA) House Select Committee on Assassinations.
TO LIVE OR MAYBE NOT is the book that assembles and brings stories of the life of Gary Revel to the public for the first time ever. The stories include his youth, high school, 2 years in San Diego California while in the US Navy during the Vietnam War Era, music business in Hollywood California, Memphis Tennessee, Nashville Tennessee and events related to his investigation of the Martin Luther King Jr. assassination.
Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. was gunned down on April 4, 1968 as he stood on the 2nd floor balcony of the Lorraine Motel in Memphis Tennessee. In 1977 Gary Revel joined with attorneys Jack Kershaw and Mark Lane in an effort to bring to light the truth of the King murder. Some of his effort in uncovering the conspiracy and the involvement of Organized Crime and the US Government is dealt with in this book and for the first time available to the general public. It is published and for sale today at AMAZON.COM as well as TARGET.COM and other locations.
